The County of Simcoe restructured townships in 1994. It merged two townships forming the current Township of Oro-Medonte. Oro lies north-east of Barrie, south-west of Orillia, Lake Simcoe to the east and north-west to Vasey Rd. Oro-Medonte encompasses numerous country and lake landscapes providing a diverse variety of homes.
Oro, is an outdoor enthusiast dream. It features ski hills, golf courses, bike and walking trails, country acreage, lake front properties and best of all has easy access to numerous events because of the highways which intersect the township.
