‘Spin’ at The Mady Centre

Inspired by the incredible true tale of the first woman to ride a bike around the world in 1895, this epic cycle of songs and stories explores the early connections between bicycles, advertising, and women’s liberation. Award winning author, singer/songwriter, and theatre maker Evalyn Parry takes audiences on a musical journey from the dawn of the bicycle in the 19th century to her own experiences riding her bike through the streets of Toronto and Montreal. Parry’s co-star is a vintage bicycle – suspended on a mechanic’s stand and outfitted with microphones and sound equipment. Until April 21st Spin is offered as part of a 3 show subscription also including Girls Nite Out and From Judy to Bette

Baggattaway Lacrosse Festival

Experience the traditions and skills of Canada’s national summer sport! Sainte-Marie among the Hurons and the Toronto Rock present the Baggataway Lacrosse Festival June 24 and June 25, 2017, as part of the Ontario 150th Celebrations. The site will come alive with Canada’s Historic Game during the two day event. Visit the site of one of the first recorded accounts of the Indigeneous game and try your hand at skills competitions, interactive Lacrosse displays and meet and greet with Toronto Rock players.
